URBAN RE-FARM PROJECT
CHICKEN COOP
In the Urban Re-Farm project, we were tasked with studying urban farming and its impacts on the community, environment, and mindset. We formed groups and drafted a catalog which we sent out to potential customers. Once we had interested customers, we were assigned to create a product. Through constant communication with both our supervisors and customers, we were able to design a product that satisfied all of our specifications. During this process, we created media documentation of our work, through book form.
Our customer was former HTH teacher, Tom Fehrenbacher and us to make him a chicken coop. Our main design aspect was its ability to be modular. We made several designs on the computer program CAD. Our coop can be opened up and closed on different sides to grant maximum mobility.
